Microsoft Excel – Using Pivot Tables

Lesson Aim: To be able to manipulate data using Pivot Tables/Charts for a range of scenarios. Using single and multiple tables to create pivots. Filtering and sorting pivot data using slicers and timelines.

Prerequisites:

  • A good level of IT competency, file management and keyboard skills
  • Access to MS Excel 2016 and a PC or laptop with additional screens
  • A good understanding of formatting, manipulating, and using basic formulas/functions.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the session the delegate will be able to: 

  • Create pivot tables/charts using a single source of data
  • Create pivot tables/charts using multiple sources of data
  • Filter/sort data using sliders and timelines
  • Format pivot tables using pivot table styles
  • Calculate field to a pivot table.
