Introduction to Excel

Lesson Aim: To be confident in the basic applications of MS Excel including formatting cells, using formulas, creating charts, and linking cells across multiple sheets and other applications.
Prerequisites:
- A good level of IT competency, file management and keyboard skills
- Access to MS Excel 2016 and a PC or laptop with additional screens.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the session the delegate will be able to:
- Be confident in the use of the MS Excel Interface
- Identify cell names, addresses and name your own cells
- Use the “text to column” tools and Concatenate functions
- Use basic formulas and functions (sum, average, max, min, if)
- Create and format basic charts (Bar/Column/Line)
- Link data across sheets and other applications e.g., MS Word
- Import and export data across different applications.
