Our communities of practice and networks are a place to connect, learn and share ideas with colleagues across Dorset.

The Advanced Practice Community of Practice Network is open to Advanced Practitioners working in Primary Care and Urgent Treatment Centres who assess patients.
They meet monthly via Teams.
As a member, you’ll have access to:
- Monthly online education sessions (1pm–2pm)
- A different clinical topic each month
- Opportunities to discuss cases and share learning with colleagues
- Regular updates about upcoming sessions
- The chance to help shape future topics through your feedback and ideas
The General Practice Nurse (GPN) Community of Practice meets regularly online and is open to all General Practice Nurses working across Dorset.
As a member, you’ll have access to:
- Opportunities to connect with General Practice Nurses from across Dorset
- Education sessions and professional development opportunities
- A supportive space to share ideas, experiences and best practice
- Regular updates about upcoming meetings and events
- The chance to help shape future topics through your feedback and ideas

Here in Dorset, we offer a network for GPs in their first 5 years post qualifying.
This network offers monthly sessions which include guest speakers, small group discussions and peer support.
As a member of the network you will be able to attend Dorset GP First 5 Network events, you will receive the Primary Care Training Hub update emails keeping you informed of other development opportunities and as members you will be asked to contribute your feedback and ideas to help us develop our support for GPs in Dorset.
