FdSc Nursing Associate Apprenticeship

Next proposed start date: March 2027

Delivered by Bournemouth and Poole College who are now taking expressions of interest for the next cohort.

The Nursing Associate is a highly trained support role to deliver effective, safe and responsive nursing care. Nurse Associates work within defined parameters and work independently to deliver care in line with an agreed plan.

The 2-year Programme is structured to include one day a week college attendance and Four 6-week external placements. Successful completion leads to NMC registration as a Nursing Associate. Graduates may progress to Registered Nurse training (e.g., BSc (Hons) Nursing at BU)

Course Requirements

  • Employment: Apprentices must be employed in a healthcare setting for at least 30 hours/week in a role above that of a Healthcare Support Worker.
  • Supervision: Apprentices must work alongside a Registered Nurse or other registered healthcare professional.
  • Health & Safety: Occupational health checks and a valid DBS check is mandatory.
