Invitation to Participate in Research: The Future Role of General Practice Nurses
Michelle Horn is Director of Nursing Leadership and Quality, NHS England, East of England. Michelle is also a doctoral researcher at Birmingham City University, is undertaking a research study exploring the views of General Practice Nurses (GPNs) and General Practitioners on the future role of GPNs in the context of patient need, government policy, and delivery of the NHS 10-Year Health Plan.
The study aims to understand the opportunities, challenges, barriers, and enablers that may influence the future development of the GPN role as care increasingly shifts towards community-based, preventative, and digitally enabled models of care.
Participation involves a confidential 40-60 minute interview, either via Microsoft Teams, or face-to-face at Birmingham City University, at a time convenient to participants. Contributions will help inform evidence and discussion about the future of General Practice Nursing and the support needed to meet evolving patient needs.
