Prescribing Update for the Non-Medical Team

Target Auidence: Clinical grades only. All allied health professionals working in primary care. Non-medical prescribers, those currently developing a portfolio to establish competency and those AHPs with an interest in this field of clinical practice.
Lesson Aim: The aim is to update and refresh non-medical prescribers around all aspects of their role.

- MHRA up-date
- Specialist Pharmacy Service review
- Misuse of medication
- Buying medication (all sources)
- Selling prescription-only medication
- Clinical management of patients selling their medication.
Learning Outcomes:
- Awareness of drug shortages
- Understanding of current medicines alerts
- Identify & provide support for patients experiencing addiction to prescribed medication
- Undertaking pain medication reviews
- Develop prescribing strategies
- Contribute to multi-agency approach to governance
- Understanding of legal framework.
Important Information: This training will be run over Zoom. To participate you will need to install Zoom on your device, and ensure it is has a microphone, speaker, and camera. Please Note: Some trainers will no longer allow you to stay on the call if you do not have your camera operating, without good reason. If this is the case you will not be reimbursed for the course.
