Communication Workshop – For New to Practice GP’s

Hosted by: Hannah Francis
Are you within your first two years of qualifying as a GP?
Starting your career as a GP is an exciting milestone, but it can also bring challenges, uncertainty, and moments of feeling overwhelmed. That’s why we’ve created a series of supportive, interactive workshops designed specifically for GPs in their first two years post-CCT.
This month’s session: Communicating to Get Your Needs Met and Understand the Needs of Others
Based on the principles of Non-Violent Communication (NVC), this engaging workshop will explore how understanding feelings and needs can help us communicate more clearly, compassionately, and effectively, without blame or judgement.
Through discussion, practical exercises, and real-life GP scenarios, you’ll discover techniques to:
- Navigate challenging conversations with greater confidence
- Better understand your own needs and those of colleagues and patients
- Build stronger working relationships
- Communicate with empathy while remaining clear and assertive
Why join?
✅ Connect with fellow newly qualified GPs
✅ Develop confidence in your communication style
✅ Share experiences and learn from your peers
✅ Gain practical tools to support a sustainable and rewarding career
✅ Enjoy tea, cake, and a welcoming learning environment!
The workshop series is delivered by four experienced GP coaches, bringing a wealth of knowledge from across general practice. Topics throughout the year will include leadership, career development, organisation, partnerships, wellbeing, and more, with themes shaped by the needs and interests of the group.
Join us and invest in the skills that will help you thrive, both professionally and personally, as you build your own unique career as a GP. 🌟
