This workshop will present the principles and theory of a Peer Group Supervision Model that is applicable in a range of clinical settings. There will be the opportunity to practice this model and consider its application in your clinical setting. It also enables the development of supervision skills within a structured framework.
The aims of this workshop are to:
Provide an overview the functions and roles characteristic of the supervision process
Present the benefits of group supervision
Practice the aspects of the Peer Group Supervision Model (Tietze, 2015)
Consider how to apply this model to different clinical settings
Provide attendees with the skills to set up peer group supervision / action learning sets
Target Audience:
Registered healthcare professionals with responsibilities:
for supporting the learning and development of others in their team or organisation
who use facilitation in their work as educators
who need to increase their knowledge and skills in this model
who wish to set up peer group supervision/action learning sets with teams or groups of staff / learners
For example:
Learning Environment Leads, Preceptorship Leads or others in an education-facing role
