HRT for Nurses

This course is suitable for: This interactive online session is designed for nursing teams and HRT prescribers who want to deepen their understanding of hormone replacement therapy.

Lesson Aim: We’ll separate fact from fiction, dispel common myths, and equip you with the knowledge to provide safe, evidence-based advice and care.

  • How to weigh up risks and benefits for each patient.
  • Contraindications, cautions, and case study discussions.
  • Key insights from the latest NICE guidance.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the session the delegate will be able to: 

  • Explain the different types and delivery routes of HRT
  • Apply NICE guidance when assessing and advising patients
  • Identify contraindications and cautions for HRT use
  • Consider individualised treatment approaches using real-world case scenarios.

This training will be run over Zoom. To participate you will need to install Zoom on your device, and ensure it is has a microphone, speaker, and camera. Please Note: Some trainers will no longer allow you to stay on the call if you do not have your camera operating, without good reason. If this is the case you will not be reimbursed for the course.

 

Event Speaker/Trainer:

Alex Fryer trained as a nurse at Guys hospital in London. During her 38 years career as a registered nurse and non- medical prescriber she has specialised in many different areas, but her main focus has been around women’s health, also specialising in contraception, sexual health and Menopause. As co-founder of the organisation Ithappens.education, she spent 15 years working as one of the country’s leading RSHE speakers, (Relationship Health and Sex education), working in schools throughout the UK, delivering sessions to pupils, teachers and parents. For the last three years she has focused specifically on menopause, both in a clinical role and also by delivering training and support around this area.’
