The Alphabet of Red Flags
Clinicians working in an extended role are now offering ‘on the day’ appointments for people with acute illness. Although these are often referred to as minor illness clinics or ‘triage’ a key element of these appointments is to assess for, identify and/or exclude any red flags which might indicate serious illness requiring immediate action or referral.
In this session, Bevelled Bostock discusses these concerns in ‘The Alphabet of Red Flags’. Using an alphabetical approach, delegates will be given the opportunity to discuss a range of signs and symptoms which might point to the need for urgent action. Delegates are also welcome to bring their own red flag examples for discussion with their peer group.
For starters:
A is for arrythmias
B is for bleeding
C is for.. and so on!
