Additional Training for Practice Nurses who take Cervical Sample

Health Education England has funded additional training for Practice Nurses who take cervical samples. This FREE training is in addition to the mandatory 3 yearly update sample takers undertake.
Aimed at lead nurses, mentors and nurses who supervisor trainees.
Training Event Content
- Mentorship within the Cervical Screening Programme
- Women’s health
- Campaign work to address low uptake in age groups, areas of deprivation
- Working with local community groups to target hard to reach groups
- Make every contact count; “at what age should we start to discuss cervical screening” look at what practices include during a women’s Contraception appointment.
- Domestic abuse and female genital mutilation training to ensure nurses have the skills to help women who may confide during their smear appointment.
- Identify non responders and inviting them, exception reporting, using the correct equipment and system issues
- Cervical Screening Top tips and good practice guidance.
