2 Day Course to Develop Team Leaders

This course is designed for those in a team leadership role currently, and those required to step-in for their line manager when the need arises. It covers the essential communication, delegation and prioritisation skills required to lead an effective team. The course will be held on 2 non-consecutive days, giving the delegates an opportunity to put the Day 1 skills into practice between sessions and report back to their peers on the programme. The course fee includes an online personality profile which needs to be completed in advance of the Day 1 – the results of which are for the delegates own learning – no need to share them!

Day 1

  • Understanding different personality types and behaviours, and acquire strategies for handling tricky situations
  • Dealing with difficult people
  • Knowing how to get the best out of team members
  • Knowing how to help team members communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
  • Self-management and organisation
  • Prioritisation
  • Recognising what’s important, and being able to prioritise accordingly
  • Delegation
  • Understanding what effective delegation is, and how to do it
  • Be confident when assigning roles and tasks, and know how to monitor and control the outcomes

Day 2

  • Communicating effectively
  • Listening and questioning skills
  • Coaching
  • Developing a coaching management style to help others take action and responsibility, and improve performance
  • Knowing how to help others be more proactive and solve problems
  • Performance Management
  • Giving effective feedback

PARKING

Please avoid parking at the surgery. There is parking in neighbouring roads or you may prefer to use the pay and display car park just off the A3, London Road, just off  Kings Road in Mission Lane (PO8 8XF)
