In January 2017, we launched Dorset Locum Chambers, a free system designed for advertising and booking Locum GP work.
In addition to advertising and booking work our chambers offers additional support with statutory and mandatory training, administration of important paperwork such as tax and pension forms and information about CPD and training events for Locum GPs.Click here to find out more >>

The GP Retention Scheme is a package of financial and educational support to help doctors, who might otherwise leave the profession, remain in clinical general practice.
The scheme is aimed at doctors who are seriously considering leaving or have left general practice due to personal reasons (caring responsibilities or personal illness), approaching retirement or requiring greater flexibility. The scheme supports both the retained GP and the practice employing them by offering financial support in recognition of the fact that this role is different to a ‘regular’ part-time, salaried GP post, offering greater flexibility and educational support.Click here to find out more >>
An important part of the work we do is to engage with school students and enthuse them about careers in medicine and careers in healthcare. We do this in a number of different ways and often need the support from local GPs with activity in the local community.
