DESCRIPTION:Living With & Beyond Cancer (LWBC) Webinar \n(FREE Cancer Education Webinar Series for Primary Care led by Wessex Cancer Alliance) \n  \nOverview: \n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an educational webinar focusing on Living With & Beyond (LWBC) Cancer. \n\n\n\n\nWith improvements in early detection and treatment\, more and more people are living with and beyond cancer and cancer can now be seen as a chronic disease. LWBC often involves long-term biopsychosocial challenges\, including symptoms related to the cancer and cancer treatments\, some of which require lifelong management and support. Living well with cancer is a key part of the National Cancer Plan for England and this webinar will look at this important area of cancer care with a primary care focus. \nThis webinar is suitable for GPs\, GP registrars\, advanced clinical practitioners\, nurse practitioners\, practice nurses\, physician associates\, pharmacists and other members of the primary care multidisciplinary team. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers \nDr Virginia Quiney – Wessex Cancer Alliance GP Advisor – has been a WCA GP since 2019 and also works as a locum GP in Portsmouth and SE Hampshire and a GP appraiser. She provides a primary care voice on the LWBC board and Psychology group and the WCA. \nTeresa Corbett\, WCA Programme Manager LWBC – Teresa’s background is as a researcher in Health Psychology\, with a specific interest in psycho-oncology. Teresa works alongside teams to support the personalised care agenda across cancer pathways\, spanning all care settings. This work aims to facilitate a coordinated effort to enable the integration of meaningful\, personalised support for people with cancer in Wessex. \nAndrew Merwood\, WCA Clinical Lead for psychology – Andrew is a Clinical Psychologist and also leads the Macmillan Counselling and Psychology Service at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. Andrew will be working with the Alliance to support the development of equitable psycho-oncology resources and pathways across Wessex\, to ensure the psychological supervision and training needs of non-psychologists are met and to improve the psychological services we offer to people with cancer. \n\n\n\nBook your spot here

DESCRIPTION:Haematological Cancer – a webinar for primary care \n(FREE Cancer Education Webinar Series for Primary Care led by Wessex Cancer Alliance) \n  \nOverview: \n\n\n\n\n\n\nHaematological malignancies\, which include leukaemias\, lymphomas\, and myelomas\, are the fifth most common group of cancers in the UK. \n\n\n\n\nOver 40\,000 people are diagnosed with blood cancer each year in the UK\, while more than 310\,000 people are living with these conditions at any given time. \nJoin our Haematology Webinar on Cancer for Primary Care and explore early recognition strategies\, diagnostic pathways\, and referral guidelines to improve outcomes for patients with haematological malignancies. \nSpeakers \nDr Marianna Koperdanova has been a Consultant Haematologist at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) since 2018\, treating patients with both benign and malignant blood conditions. Her professional interests include research and holistic approaches to patient care.
