SUMMARY:Return to Work Course | Our Dorset NHS Development Hub
DESCRIPTION:Are you a GP or Advanced Clinician due to return\, or have recently returned\, to clinical work after a prolonged period of absence (e.g. maternity leave or ill health)? Would you like to increase your clinical confidence\, have updates on hot CPD topics\, discuss appraisal requirements and meet others in a similar position? \nThis one day course\, run by the Primary Care Training Hub\, will support GPs and Advanced Clinicians to return to work after a period of prolonged absence (e.g. maternity leave or ill health) and help build confidence. It offers returners the opportunity to practice telephone and online consulting skills in a simulated learning environment\, take part in CPD updates on hot clinical topics\, discuss appraisal requirements with an appraiser and spend time with GPs in a similar situation\, building a network for peer support. \nThis session will provide up to 3 simulated patient consultations\, an hour of CPD updates\, a session on appraisal and the chance to build relationships with other GPs in Dorset who are in a similar position. The programme will count as CPD points for appraisal purposes. \nThe course is open to all GPs \, GP Trainees\, Advanced Clinicians and Trainee Advanced Clinicians in Dorset who have had an absence from work of greater than three months and have either just returned\, or are due to return to clinical work in the next three months. \nWhat previous attendees have said: \n\n“I appreciated practising the video consulting with the actors as this is a new way of working for me and gave me more confidence.”\n“Chance to role play video consult was great and update very useful.”\n100% of attendees found the course satisfactory or more than satisfactory\nThe course met all attendees’ expectations\nLunch and light refreshments will be provided\n\nBy registering to attend a PCTH event\, you are confirming that you are available to attend and commit to attend fully.
