DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to be able to offer fully funded places on the Cruse Bereavement training for primary care staff.\nHere for Each Other are offering fully funded places on the Cruse Bereavement training for primary care staff in frontline roles talking to patients who may have experienced bereavement. Loss and bereavement awareness is delivered virtually over 2.5 hours by experienced Cruse trainers. The course aims to help you to respond to\, and support bereaved people but also considers the impact on yourself and helps you to manage your own and your colleagues wellbeing. \nSome Dorset primary care business support and reception staff recently road tested this training and said: \n• “It definitely opened my eyes and I think it allows staff to have the confidence to speak to patients that have experience bereavement.” \n• “It also helped them to recognise when they\, themselves may have been affected by a story and where\, when and how to get help for this. It showed them that it is okay to be affected by a story but to recognise this and to get help if needed” \nPlease register for a place via Eventbrite at the link below\, the details you provide will be shared with Cruse so that they can book you onto their training system. Grab a cuppa and zoom in with green woodsman Mark Codling. Explaining the best woods to carve and how to prepare them\, Mark takes us through the steps of how to start carving green wood into a spoon and other utensils. As Mark will tell us\, carving wood is a great way to focus the mind and can be very meditative and calming. SUMMARY:Safety Netting for COVID and Cancer in Primary Care
DESCRIPTION:Delivering good safety netting in consultations helps improve patient safety\, reduces risk\, and ensures medicolegally that a clinician can defend their actions in the event of a complaint or adverse outcome.\nDorset CCG has teamed up with Cancer Research UK to explore the importance of safety netting when it comes to the early diagnosis of cancer and explores how some of the main principles can also be applied to COVID\, particularly when consulting remotely. \nThis session will demonstrate practical ways to review processes\, shares resources and provides support to PCNs. It also includes a case study from a Dorset PCN based on their DES Early Diagnosis work. This session is aimed at clinicians within primary care but may also be beneficial for wider practice staff involved in practice systems. \nSoftware: This is an online training that will be delivered on Microsoft Teams.
