SUMMARY:Free Cancer Training for Non-Clinical Workforce
DESCRIPTION:Produced and delivered by NHS Dorset CCG in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support.\nOur aim is to ensure that cancer patients\, their families and carers across Dorset are able to access information and support in the right place\, at the right time and in the right way to suit them. This will be achieved through personalised supported signposting to existing groups and services\, meeting each individual’s treatment and holistic needs\, and improving their overall health and wellbeing. \nWe are running a live online training session on Wednesday 25th November (13:00 – 14:15) to raise cancer awareness and provide relevant local information. Fundamental to this is the new Cancer Matters Wessex website\, a virtual information centre with a comprehensive directory of information and support services. \nDorset Macmillan GPs Dr Susie Jackson and Dr Debs Rose will be presenting\, and in this session we hope you will: \n1. Increase your knowledge about general cancer awareness\n2. Be able to confidently signpost people to relevant cancer related health and information services\n3. Be able to identify key healthcare professionals involved in caring for someone with cancer \nThis session is open to all Primary Care Networks in Dorset and is designed for the non-clinical workforce including (but not limited to) Social Prescribing Link Workers\, Health & Wellbeing Coaches\, Healthcare Champions\, admin staff and volunteers. \nPlease complete this online Registration Form. Joining instructions will be sent to you nearer the time.
