Sexual Health and Contraception – half day update

PURPOSE
This course aims to update the knowledge and skills required to safely manage patient consultations regarding contraception and sexual health issues
SUMMARY
By the end of this study session you should be able to:
- Feel confident in assessing the risk of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections
- Discuss the management of unscheduled bleeding with hormonal methods of contraception.
- Describe the best practice in managing requests for emergency contraception.
- Describe the tests and treatment required for common sexually transmitted infections.
- In groups discuss and apply best practice guidelines to correctly respond to clinical scenarios.
- Feel confident in advising women whatever age regarding appropriate methods of contraception
PARKING
Please do not park in the surgery car park but in neighbouring roads where there are no parking restrictions. You could also park in the long stay car park in the Civic Centre Car Park Temple Street BS31 1EL or the car park in Bath Hill East BS31. Both are within a 10 minute walk of the surgery
