PREMISE
Primary care is at the forefront of the NHS and facing major challenges. This demands leadership within practices and also in other roles e.g. commissioning, provider organisations, and educational roles. There is a mass of leadership theory but what is relevant in this context?
CONTENT
We review evidence about leadership. We share models and experience from working with many clinicians and managers across the NHS. We make this very practical to your working lives and encourage you to share your own experiences.
AIMS
Following the course participants will have:
- Increased their understanding of the nature of leadership and management
- Increased awareness of their personal style and strengths
- Developed their key leadership skills including influencing skills
- Enhanced skills to maximise their own productivity, and improved time management and delegation
- The knowledge and skills to run effective meetings
- Greater skills to manage and lead change
- Improved understanding of teams, and enhanced skills in managing other people
It is essential that all delegates complete BOTH days of this 2-day course
TRAINER
The programme will be led by Steve Blades who is an experienced GP with extensive clinical leadership and management experience. He now works mainly as a trainer and executive coach. He has substantial experience of coaching individuals and teams, and has led a number of successful leadership development programmes in the past.
