GP Return to Work
14 September 2020 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Are you a GP due to return, or have recently returned, to clinical work after a prolonged period of absence (e.g. maternity leave or ill health)? Would you like to increase your clinical confidence, have updates on hot CPD topics, discuss appraisal requirements and meet others in a similar position?
This online course, run by the Primary Care Training Hub, will support GPs to return to work after a period of prolonged absence (e.g. maternity leave or ill health) and help build confidence. It offers returners the opportunity to practice telephone and online consulting skills in a simulated learning environment, take part in CPD updates on hot clinical topics, discuss appraisal requirements with an appraiser and spend time with GPs in a similar situation, building a network for peer support.
This session will provide up to 3 simulated patient consultations, an hour of CPD updates, a session on appraisal and the chance to build relationships with other GPs in Dorset who are in a similar position. The programme will count as CPD points for appraisal purposes and there will be an offer, to all participants, of ongoing coaching through the Dorset Coaching Faculty.
The course is open to all GPs and GP Trainees in Dorset who have had an absence from work of greater than three months and have either just returned, or are due to return to clinical work in the next three months.
