This training workshop will ensure participants understand Contextualised Safeguarding and new areas of risk, how to identify when children and adults may have become vulnerable to them and how to respond.
Aims for the day:
- For participants to understand what safeguarding threats exist for adults and children and what factors can make them more vulnerable
- To identify the potential signs and symptoms of different types of abuse
- To have an overview of relevant legislation and practitioners’ statutory obligations
- How to respond to safeguarding alerts and participate in enquiries while continuing to try and apply the wishes of the victim
- To employ practice which may help to prevent abuse and make it easier for victims to disclose
In addition to a lunch break, additional breaks will be allowed throughout the day to avoid extensive periods in front of the screen.
