£45Jonathan McKinney will lead this interactive training event which will examine the increasingly complex challenges faced by Primary Care Practitioners in safeguarding children and adults. Jonathan retired from Dorset Police in 2019 after a 29 year career mostly specialising as a detective investigating serious crimes against children and vulnerable adults and all aspects of safeguarding. He qualified as a trainer in 2004 and went on to combine investigation with training multi-agency audiences safeguarding awareness and practice.

- To identify the potential signs and symptoms of different types of abuse
- To have an overview of relevant legislation and practitioners’ statutory obligations
- How to respond to safeguarding alerts and participate in enquiries while continuing to try and apply the wishes of the victim
- To employ practice which may help to prevent abuse and make it easier for victims to disclose
